This is a verrrry juicy post my friends!
Some of you may have spotted the launch of outrageously cool Australian homeware brand; Arro Home last month. I’ll let these beautiful images speak for themselves!
Beci took some time to answer a few questions we had about the beginnings of Arro with business partner Adam Rogers, her ideas for the direction of the brand, some thoughts on collaboration AND some of her favourite products.
What’s more she also let us in behind the scenes. I LOVE getting a peek at the team that are working behind the camera to actually achieve those glossy shots which get out heart strings pinging. Melbourne based photographer and styling combo and friends; Brooke Holm and Marsha Golemac were the ones creating the magic this time.
Enjoy this rare look inside the creative machine!
How did you and Adam Rogers meet and what kicked off the idea of Arro Home?
I had worked on another project with Adam and we got along really well. At the end of one meeting I started talking of my love of homewares and how I wanted to do something new. Adam said he had been thinking the same thing – but more from a business point of view. We both saw a gap in the market which we though we could fill with our combined skills. We kept discussing the idea and few weeks later Arro Home was officially created!
What are your plans for the direction of the brand?
We are trying to focus on beautiful quality products which are still affordable and interesting. The range is mix of items which I have designed and pieces which we have sourced overseas. We have worked really hard to rein them both together in a harmonious way (and I think we’ve been pretty successful too!), so the sourced pieces will work back with the designed pieces and vice versa. Colour and pattern are two things close to our hearts, but we also hope to balance that out with some more neutral pieces, so there is something for everyone!
As a prolific creator and regular collaborator, can you offer any words of advice for a successful collaboration?
While Arro Home is more of a permanent situation for me than a collaboration, I have worked on quite few collaborations and we also have some great ones in the works for Arro. I think the best thing about collaborations is the unique ideas you get when there are 2 parties contributing – they are ideas that would not have existed otherwise.
I also think a successful collaborations will bring new opportunities to both sides, and a way to explore different mediums etc too.
If you were forced to choose, which 3 items from the launch collection are your must haves….
– embroidered napkin set (i’m obsessed with table linens so i selfishly designed these – they are my ultimate napkins!)
– microscope cushion (the pink sits perfectly on my new couch!)
– jute twist rug (this is the ultimate neutral rug and add so much texture to a room without you even noticing it! its also nice and soft underfoot, and can take the pushiments my all male household dishes out on a regular basis!)
