Camilla Stoddart

Sorry! It’s been a little long between these sneaks peeks so I am very pleased to get you back in the swing of things with the farm cottage inhabited by my cousin Tim and friend Camilla Stoddart, the super awesome photographer who I have blogged many a time. Enjoy.

WHAT: The 1930’s farm cottage where I live and now call home. I work, play and live here. It is my nest.

WHERE: It is on my boyfriend Tim’s high country merino farm in Tarras, near Wanaka New Zealand

WHO: I am fortunate to share this home with with my Tim and my Flo, our 5 month boarder collie pup.

DESCRIPTION: It has been about 8 months since I moved from my house in Wanaka to Tim’s farm. It is only 30mins from town, just close enough, just far away enough. I love it out here amongst the high country mountains and enormous space. No neighbors in sight and room to breath and wander… I have made one of the small bedrooms into my office, which has become more like a cave. Blinds half drawn to keep out the Central Otago sun that shines consistantly. We have our kitchen, the life of the house, shelves full of small jugs and glass bottles full of preserved fruit and chutneys from the summer months, a small coal range that is the warm belly of the cottage. The living room where my historic camera collection lies, and a book shelf full of magazines I have been fortunate enough to be published in. The claw foot bath in our tinsy bathroom. The loo and shower are outside you see. I love the bath, one each night at the moment keeps me warm in the winter months…

If you have a spare 9 minutes, you can check out the slideshow that Camilla was asked to compile as a top 5 finalist in the Olympus Pro Photographer Showdown at the recent Telus World Ski and Snowboard Festival. It’s awesome.
