Do you think its something to do with getting older? This intense attraction I am slowly building for deliciously scented soaps and creams? My mum covets floral smelling handcreams like its nobody’s business and this has just spread to expensive body scrubs and oils which is way outside her normally frugal character!
Anyway…I’ll be happy to embrace this rite of passage if it means I can collection beautiful handmade products like these from Vice and Velvet!
Dreamed and cooked up by hand in Melbourne by clever creator; Mei Ong , the collection has grown to include bar soaps, bathing whip, body mousse and polishes….sounds pretty lush right?
All products are made entirely from scratch and include no nasties, using only all natural ingredients.
I welcome you to browse here!

Bashful Garter might be a new kids on the “down under internet block” BUT they have arrived in a cloud of creativity and packing some seriously fresh ideas on how to represent and share their brands with YOU!
They stock a carefully curated stable of labels that manufacture in Australia and New Zealand and a growing number from further a field that also champion fairtrade, organic cloth, organic dyes and fair conditions for offshore garment workers.
Taking great pride in their seasonal shoots, I was excited to share their latest one with you here. If you love the vibe, aesthetic and underlying values of what Bashful Garter are up to then please take a click stroll through their vibrant collections.

Kiwi Anna Ross has come a long way from her jewellery design roots to be the leader of exciting independent, “bad stuff ” free nail colour brand; Kester Black. Never one to be following the bunch, Kester Black has grown a fan base in love with not only their colour palettes and quality of polish, but fun their collaborations, ethical business focus AND the brands quest for creativity in what has traditionally been a pretty commercial and glossy part of the beauty industry.
Pictured in this AMAZING imagery you can see the first 4 colours released as part of Kester Blacks annual collection. The art direction is all thanks to Copenhagan based Spatial Designer and Visual Artist Anny Wang. Staggering….Imagery courtesy of Kester Black

It was actually while out Christmas shopping that I spotted, then swiped a passing whiff of the beautiful Vetyver Begamot fragrance by NZ brand; Ingrid Starnes.
Primarily making their mark in the local fashion world, it has been an exciting development to watch the team build on their debut all natural fine fragrance with a now growing collection of skincare, soap and scented candles.
Vetyver and bergamot perfume oils have been essential ingredients in skincare for centuries. Here they are paired with healing organic manuka honey, soothing organic goat’s milk and the best in modern, all natural clinical practice to create versatile skincare for sensitive and demanding skin types.

The name might have you guessing a little but Drugstore is a new Australian based online haven offering premium, artisan products for the mind, body, soul and home. In addition to the goodies like wooden tooth brushes, charcoal face puffs and exotic toothpaste, owner Pooja Sharma has also developed an in house brand featuring a black soap and beauty/beard oil. Good things to come here I think!
Definitely worth a look for your discerning gift giving!
