I’ve actually been following Sunshine Coast artist/maker Millie Fairhall for AGES but for whatever reason it was her insta-posting of her gorgeous A3, limited edition calendar that shook me up to blog on my first day back at the desk!
While her she has made a small run of her calendar she makes even smallllller runs of her amazing reclaimed wood serving platters and spatula’s. Each is hand shaped and hand painted telling its very own story and is not recreated!
It’s also Millie’s first day back in the studio so rest assured, there are a whole new batch of these little works of art on the way….
Issue 15 of our favourite little cult publication; Extra Curricular is all ready for you to take home!
Sporting a VERY cool cover from Australian power duo; Enemies Yay ( Laura Blythman and Pete Cromer the goodness behind it is consistently inspiring, interesting and idea generating!
“It’s an oldie but a goodie – taking its name from the classic proverb, the Many Hands issue celebrates collaboration in all its forms, proving that many hands do indeed make light work.
Featuring a gang of artists who roam Auckland’s streets, a small Matakana bush cabin built by architectural graduates, and the latest must-have of any creative city – shared workshop spaces – the spring issue is fronted by dynamic cover duo Pete Cromer and Laura Blythman, working together as Enemies Yay.
Maryann Talia Pau, weaver extraordinaire, talks to us about the power of her craft to bring communities together. Luzette Godinez shows us how to make a stunning geometric piñata, the Martha Goes Green crew dish up their usual delectable fare, and four creative couples share their experiences living and working together.
And, if all these projects have you inspired to get your own project off the ground, have a look at the creative funding cheat-sheet we’ve put together.”Imagery courtesy of Extra Curricular
Threaded is not only one of NZ’s most successful independent publications, it is also one of the few that have stuck to their niche like glue – consistently filling their pages with provocative, modern features, profiles, interviews and editorial that surely will spin the wheels of all hardcore designers and passionate creatives.
With a hungry international audience awaiting Issue 16, it is winging its out way out there as it launches here on its home shores.
Check out the great little video below that shares some of the passion, partnership and dedication put into the magazines production.

I’m stoked to introduce you all to a brand new little creative biz from Sydney based husband and wife team; Amanda and Benjamin. Under the the whimsical name; The Adventures Of they not only offer a range of prints, cards and wrapping paper but also a full custom design service for invitations which might just be what you are after for an upcoming special occasion.
You can take a look at the work they did for their own wedding (also take some time to check that out too! beautiful!) but all in all, their site fully reflects their beautiful, soft and romantic aesthetic.
Everything is available for purchase now with stock arriving early next week ready to wing its way out to you!
Have a fiesta planned? Of the beautiful/festive/nuptials/celebratory kind?
Well the brand new whimsical invitation range from Santiago Sunbird might JUST be for you (its definitely for me…) The collection is the result of a sibling collaboration between designer Bree Hankinson and her illustrating sister; Sarah Hankinson.
Coming up next week you can learn more about these two creatives and their shared space; The Windsor Workshop – right here on the blog. Stay posted.

Hunting for George and their sassy attitude are a bit of a favourite of mine and their first release of their new in-house homewares range is definitely keeping them there. Their initial offering are these very cool, very graphic prints which I think could slip into easily into any home and look just right.
