Both are artists and creative experts in their fields but have managed to tread the delicate line exploring their crafts AND earning a living by selling their work.
Kim shared a little with me about the collaboration:
“Anna approached me to collaborate and I was excited by the challenge of working with Anna’s graceful and minimal work alongside my clunky and lumpy forms. I liked the idea of the two very different styles of practice working together in close proximity. So I think the collaboration came from a mutual love of each others work and the challenge of how we were going to get these two practices to sit well together. This show was also about the friendship we formed whilst making this body of work.”

Collaborative works by Kim Jaeger and Anna Varendorff
April 17th – May 3rd
Opening night Fri April 17 6-8pm
Mr Kitly gallery, 381 Sydney Road Brunswick
“Starting a conversation around their very different practices, Kim Jaeger and Anna Varendorff have built upon the contributions of each other – Jaeger’s undulating and figurative ceramic forms intersecting with Varendorff’s language of formal minimalism. The works to emerge offer weightlessness. They are a moment of nearness for two practices. A closeness of materials and a convergence of thoughts.”
