down the mountain

Fearon and Hay have been the young guns of NZ architecture since their establishment in 1998….but now I would say they are graduating from cowboys to icons. Their work leans to strong, monastic structures…not always my own cup of tea…but there is no doubt that they have worked out their own winning formula and expertise in materials. I am particularly LOVING this mountain retreat on the bushy shore of my own home Lake Wakatipu, Queenstown.

Uh…phenomenally gorgeous! Okay, I’d probably wanna throw down some cozy rugs and maybe some colorful accents here and there but…that fireplace? Staying right where it is! Wow.
