Giveaway: The Kiwi Diary

Guess what. We have TWO 2012 Kiwi Diary’s to giveaway. Yes. The pre-Christmas spirit is strong at SH this week! The Kiwi Diary of 2012 is as delicious as that of last year. Packed with art, photography, words and recipies that resonate a true grass roots NZ vibe. The 2012 diary has quite an ‘ocean-inspired’ theme with the month of June to showcasing The Kermadecs – ocean sanctuary in NZ’s EEC. This is the only part of Aotearoa where a mix of tropical, subtropical and temperate seabirds and marine species, including endemic sharks, seabirds, corals and marine invertebrates, come together and/or breed. The area is also an important foraging ground and migratory pathway for whales, marine fish, turtles and sea birds. Just north of Tonga, the uninhabited Kermadec islands are a gem to be treasured.
To enter tell us your favourite kiwi summer holiday spot in the comments below and we will draw the winners randomly on Monday.
UPDATE: thanks so much for entering everyone and I LOVE hearing all your favourite holiday spots! The lucky winner via Randomiser is Lucy Gordon AND Julia McFarlane!.

I live in Tasman and I am lucky to be surrounded by beautiful holiday sites. My favorite is Mapua, 5 mins down the road and we often go and make hot chocolate on our camping stove at the beach there to have mini holidays from our home. Thanks for the great art tips.

Te Akau is where my family would go every year for Easter as well as during the summer holidays. a small excluded place where a long, windy dirt road connects civilization to the bush. It was all about jumping off the jetti and fishing off the warf, and listening to the moreporks during the night.

Favourite holiday spot is on the East Coast of the North Island down Central Hawkes Bay way. Its a beach spot called Pourerere and it still is one of the few places that allows freedom camping right on the edge of the sand! Weve been going there as kids and now im 35. Great seafood great swimming and great locals. Everyone is chilled out and its wonderful to see whanau out there together enjoying the ocean breeze and the that sweet smell of ocean air! I swear I come to life when I head out there! Its dangerous me sharing this information because others might find out!
