in the bay

The Drift Bay house by local architects Bronwyn Kerr and Pete Ritchie is becoming somewhat iconic in the area. Its big black form nestles into the exposed lakeside among cabbage trees, flax and shouldered by the mighty Remarkables. I love it for its simple materials and casual, indestructible feeling. The NZIA loves it even more awarding it a southern region award and then the national award for Residential projects!
