The shake up and destruction suffered by Lyttleton during the 2011 earthquake essentially began a ball rolling for local Joska Easterbrook. Involved in the set up of a temporary cafe, he was forced to get super creative with the fit out due to a non-existent budget. This had him tapping into his interest in furniture design and on being commissioned to design a lamp for a friends office he went on to produce a lighting collection under the name Joska & Sons.
What is even cooler, is that all the lamps are made using bamboo plywood off cuts from another local Lyttleton company, Kingswood Skis.
