A couple of weekends ago I was up in Auckland for a rampaging girls weekend that involved exploring every possible eatery and drinkery in Britomart prior to hitting up Florence and the Machine on Monday evening (I cried…she was amazing). During the exploratory missions we popped into the first MoAD (Ministry of Art and Design) Market Day held at Tyler St Garage. It was awesome to touch base with Elliot and Kate from 326 Design and endemicworld and check out the other creative vendors taking part. But the major instigator of the event were the guys from MoAD. When not giving Auckland’s creative community a friendly little push in the right direction they are working on their own wares-including their Alice in Wonderland range. Collected neglected homewares are tipped in colour and offered a new lease of life. Awesome.
