W.O.W!!!!! Talk about a massive and varied and BRILLIANT body of work from Tokyo based, Australian artist Natalie Brockett. Aside from her phenominal fashion work I am in loving her Tokyo 365 project where she creates an illustration for every day of the year. Go Natalie!!

Great work and good to see the Asian influence coming through. Love the woman’s outline with a green bow. I’ve always been very intrigued about the femininity conveyed when a woman wears a dress with a small bow at the lower back. Also love the ink painting of the woman in the black dress and red lips. It really conveys what I love about the calligraphy and ink paintings of China, Korea and Japan. They look really loose and free but there are years of skill acquisition required to attain that freedom. In more crude language, it isn’t just vomiting paint on the canvas as some quests for freedom reveal themselves to be.
