Paddle Stool by AKAU

The Paddle Stool from ĀKAU - designed with youth in Kaikohe, New Zealand // available online // as featured on Studio Home - creative talent from the lands down under

I’m so stoked to bring you this product created by a true social enterprise with some serious grit and go!

ĀKAU is based in Kaikohe and led by 3 determined young women (with impressive creative resumes!) who have taken the bit between their teeth to form a studio that fully engages local young people in the design of real projects and products.
The Paddle Stool is the first of many goodlooking products that we will be seeing from their part of the Far North and its with great pleasure that we give you the first look at it.

Take some proper time to explore ĀKAU and their project – they might just provide your own business with some design solutions!
