I recently got to pop down to the sunny seaside spot of Mount Maunganui and touch base with a number of go-getting creatives that have put down roots there. One destination in particular that had me pretty excited to check out was Paper Plane, the bricks’n’mortar HQ of one of NZ’s best curated online stores.
Paper Plane is the most fresh and cool fruits of labour of designer couple Krista Plews and Timothy John. Krista and Tim, a well regarded contemporary furniture designer decided to set up shop with a desire to cultivate a destination both online and streetside that offered a new point of view, a style that reflected them and a carefully curated collection of products from NZ and around the world.
Aside from their obvious knack at finding beautiful stuff (!!) they have also worked at developing their “home” brand for Paper Plane, designing and developing furniture and accessories that are both clever and verrrry good looking.
I highly recommend putting this place on your list for any Mount Maunganui visits in the future – and for the rest of you…well simply click here to check it ALL out! Please note that these bunnies and other animals on display are roadkill collected by a local taxidermist .
