Serious Popcorn

Serious Popcorn // New Zealand - available online // as featured on Studio Home - creative brands from the lands down underSnack food is generally far from serious – in fact it generally gets a seriously hard time!

Enter Roger Holmes.
The co founder of Stolen Rum and son of generations of corn farmers and you have the recipe for something a bit special. Well certainly special enough for me to want to share considering I am usually deeply allergic to posting on anything food related here!

Last year Roger launched Serious Popcorn – debuting two flavours brewed (brewed?) with corn sourced directly from a straight talking organic farmer from the Hawkes Bay.
The result is snack food with zero baddies. Eg. No artificial fertlizers, no pesticides, no GMO, no dairy, no gluten….
As Roger puts it; welcome to “contemporary corn”.

I’ve been a fan for a while and am very happy to introduce you guys more directly to what is going on here. They’re led by a Serious Bear, they’ve got serious stockists AND can sell direct to you online and I would suggest there is some serious new flavours on the horizon.

Enjoy!!

Vudu Cafe + Larder

…….

Vudu Cafe + Larder has rapidly become one of Queenstown’s most popular coffee and food spots… for good reason. The locals are loyal followers of the fresh and delicious daily offerings while it doesn’t take long for visitors to be drawn in the doors by the cool industrial vintage interior and general great buzz!

The morning I snuck in a visit, I had to dodge the steady stream of coffee and breakfast fiends and endless trays of totally delectable food arriving from the upstairs kitchen to the main counter and cabinets. It was 8am but this place was humming!

With a  wide sunny front entrance opening onto Rees Street and a back door revealing outside seating just a stones throw from the lake AND mega mountain views, Vudu Cafe + Larder have, without exception, all bases covered!
