The Pixel Trade

Oh this really is an incredible concept! I got up to my eyeballs in the interview of Shantanu Starick in the recent (and delicious with embossed cover!) Frankie mag and felt compelled to google him immediately. He packed up his life and took to the road with no money, instead armed with his camera and ambitious plan to trade photography for food, shelter and transport. Named “The Pixel Trade“, his project looks to me like a total success and his website tells the stories of all the places and trades he has completed. These pics are of a recent trade he did in Wanaka, NZ! He shot a birthday part of a local woman and I am in love with his beautiful shots of the extended area.
Most importantly, you can check out this map at the bottom of his post here and see if he is coming to your area soon! Southern kiwis, he has scheduled a stop in Queenstown from the 12-22nd January 2013.
